Multiple sclerosis

Patient: male, 54 years

Date: July 2020

Complaints: lower limbs weakness, urinary incontinence, periodically headache.Neurologically: spontaneous horizontal nystagmus, tendon reflexes D=S, upper limbs, D=S lower limbs, week. Urinary incontinence. Muscle strength MRC 4 upper limbs, MRC 2 lower limbs. Babinskii, Rossolimo signs in lower legs. EDSS = 4,5.

MRI (13.11.2018): Multiple foci of demyelination in both brain hemispheres, internal capsule, in paraventricular area, paramagnetic accumulation (Fig.1).

02.12.2018 treatment: intravenous (IV) and intrathecal infusion of allogenic umbilical cord derived stem cells were performed.

MRI (04.02.2019): Periventricular leukoaraiosis, contrast non-enhansed (Fig.2).

Neurologically: paresthesia below dermatome Th12. Tendon reflexes D=S, upper limbs, D=S lower limbs, week. Urinary incontinence absent. Muscle strength MRC 5 upper limbs, MRC3 lower limbs. EDSS = 2.

Recommendations are given to patient. Control period of observation: 3, 6, 12 month after treatment.
