Erectile dysfunction

Erectile dysfunction is a persistent inability to achieve or maintain an erection sufficient for sexual activity. It may result from impaired blood circulation, disrupted nerve signaling, hormonal changes, or other underlying factors.

High blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, chronic kidney disorders, and prostate surgery are among the many possible causes of ED. Psychological factors such as anxiety, stress, depression, and low self-esteem may also contribute to its development.

Medications, hormone therapy, or medical devices may provide temporary relief but do not always address the underlying causes of erectile dysfunction — such as tissue ischemia, vascular endothelial damage, or impaired neural mechanisms.

Mesenchymal stromal cells support the restoration of erectile function through a comprehensive effect on the key physiological processes involved in erection:
